1. Learn to grow from seed.
It's worth your time to grow from seed for cost savings, yield, and variety. There's a great sense of accomplishment when you start your plants directly from seed. It's not always feasible, but it makes it more fun. Want to learn more about the benefits of starting from seed? Check out this blog post.
2. Pay attention to your soil.
The soil you use can make or break your growing season. Start with a good, high-quality potting mix and fill each GreenStalk Planter. There's no need to add rocks to the bottom of the planters or any other fillers. They take away from the soil space needed for plants to grow.
3. Try something new.
Stay curious about what you can grow! Jack has planted many surprising varieties in the GreenStalk Planter, such as corn, peanuts, calendula, sweet potatoes, and more. If you're wondering if a plant will grow well vertically, give it a try and find out!
4. Check on your plants often.
Each plant and GreenStalk has a personality of its own. Jack recommends visiting your garden as much as possible to see what's new and what needs attention. It's also fun to harvest something off the planters daily!
